Great start but I wish there were more actionable steps to help your child who “doesn’t want to talk about it”.

My experience with kids is that they learn most effectively by seeing you demonstrate the method. The old “do what I say, not what I do” approach is always doomed to failure.

Very well expressed through illustrations. Flows very well. You could have given a few steps on how to “catch the thought”…..how to distance yourself from them and observe them. But I really liked the article.Thank you.

I'm with you about car carriers; they do make me wonder if one will break lose indeed! We have interesting dinner table conversations; pretty much anything and everything and all body functions are discussed; I'm sure some would be appalled, but works for us :)Too cute about fighting over who puts the angel on top of the tree! At least the tree is up though I'm assuming.betty

Mindless worrying, anger, frautrstion is something with which I’m dealing. I try to be patient and kind to myself because frautrstion just adds to the problem. There is so much to learn about ourselves so no time left for judging someone else. My hardest thing is stopping all the beating up on myself that I do. So, I guess loving myself through my learning is my hardest job at hand. I’ll get there eventually. Thanks for sharing your stories and thoughts. They often help me with mine.

All levels can benefit , even we as Teachers. Having choices and making a plan is a skill . Really appreciate the comparison format to demonstrate the point to kids …
